This new global role will be the process automation corporate engineering Computer System Validation/Data Integrity lead and will support facilities globally. The position requires experience in one or more process automation systems with a strong focus on data, systems integration, Commissioning and Qualification (C&Q) methods, architecture, and supporting automation platforms. The role will also support the delivery of capital projects and provide guidance on automation/computer system testing and Data Integrity Assessments. 

  • provide corporate engineering leadership to Data Integrity programs, conduct new asset DI assessments, and develop best practices and standards to support manufacturing and major capital project delivery
  • Provide Process Automation reviews and influence Global Quality Procedures that impact computer systems and automation platforms. 
  • Develop and lead a community of practice for manufacturing sites for Data Integrity and CSV programs. 
  • Own Global Engineering Best Practices for Manufacturing on Data Integrity Information Classification. 
  • Experience in pharma or GMP industry working in commissioning and qualification / validated systems
  • Expertise in preferred platforms, including Rockwell Automation, Emerson DeltaV, Foxboro, and Microsoft Operating Systems. Knowledge in Historians, and IT platforms such as servers, and workstations.
  • Ability to work well with different cultures and engineering disciplines internationally. Up to 10% travel.

 The primary focus of the role will be to work with Process Automation and IT systems to integrate data supporting a number of key corporate initiatives, including automation platforms, process analytic tools and models, HMI/SCADA, Data Historians, and MES.  

Expertise needed in process automation & control and data management in the life sciences.  Pharmaceutical, biotech,  (or food and beverage), ISA S88 / S95  experience desired. 

 Rockwell Automation, DeltaV, PMX,  Syncade, OSI PI, big data platforms and associated architectures needed.  

Ability to develop and drive data integrity  strategy for Engineering & Manufacturing  globally. 15-20% travel likely.

 The Packaging Automation Engineer is responsible for complete project    execution including system automation design, testing, documentation      management, installation and start-up.

  • Aggressively drive packaging automation projects to achieve time, cost, functionality, and performance deliverables.      
  • Develop great relationships with clients and partner to develop future opportunities to help them achieve their business goals. 
  • Ability to handle multiple complex, high priority projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with High Speed      Packaging in the Food and Beverage Industry, Consumer Products, or Pharmaceutical Industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of      packaging control hardware, instrumentation, and software. 
  • Knowledge of vision, bar code, and other identification or inspection systems.

  • Demonstrated experience in      Troubleshooting, Problem Solving and Productivity / System Improvement.
  • Skill in effective collaboration      oral and written communication.

Our client Is an expanding global chemical additives company that has an open position for an Area Controls Engineer at their regional headquarters for the Midwest. This person will oversee the control systems for ten small sites.  DCS / PLC / HMI experience required.  Experience with Wonderware, WinCC and HMI is a plus. Travel is estimated at 30% in support of these sites by company car which will be supplied by the employer and occasional travel via commercial airlines. Approximately half of the job will be working on upgrades/projects for the plants, and the other half will be troubleshooting and maintaining controls systems.  This position offers both stability, autonomy, and a wide variety of internal customers and locations to support. Our client is offering very generous compensation package, relocation assistance, and the ability to relocate to other US sites. 

Qualifications:

· B.S. Engineering

· 3+ years controls experience with hands on programming out of chemicals, foods, or the automotive industry as well as design through installation of small projects is a must

· Siemens controls are preferred but Allen Bradley, Honeywell or Johnson Controls are acceptable

· Knowledge of field instrumentation, CMSS, SAP PM, RCA, LMPC Control, and predictive maintenance methodologies would be a major plus.

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for MES configuration items.
  • Lead cross functional meetings to gather requirements, scope, and business rationale for MES-related projects.
  • Communicate proactively with peers, customers and management - highlighting and resolving issues, proposing solutions and driving project to completion.

                 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Electrical, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum four (4) years of design, development and deployment experience in Emerson Syncade, Siemen's Simatic IT and/or Werum PAS/X MES.
  • Thorough understanding of ISA S88 and S95 models.
  • Hands-on experience with Distributed Control Systems such as Emerson Delta V is required.
  • Being able to understand the business process and business process mapping.
